JDR Knife & Tool

Hello everyone. My name is Joshua Rice, and I'm a gadget and tool junky.

My career in knife and toolmaking, along with other artistic pursuits is just beginning. Every endeavor brings new insight, wisdom, and experience.

I'm a simple guy from Texas and have spent the majority of my life in the pursuit of knowledge and education. Until the day we pass on, there is always something to learn:)
My degree is a Bachelor of Science in Resource and Environmental Studies, with a minor in Geology. My interests are the typical guy things such as the outdoors, sports, animals, geology, geography, metals and materials, guns, knives, gadgets, tools, lights, colors, pretty girls, etc.
Knife and toolmakers who guide and inspire me include, but are not limited to, Larry Davidson, Peter Atwood, Allen Elishewitz, and so on.

At this point in time, my primary focus is on designing and creating useful tools and gadgets.

Most of my work, before setting up this site, is displayed in some of the more common knife and gun site/forums. I'm also collaborating with Matt Davidson to produce some tools and gadgets that involve CNC machining. That project is just beginning also, and is collectively referred to as 830tool.

My ultimate goal is to be the very best artist I can, and to perfect an identifiable style of my own. I want everyone who purchases one of my tools/knives/gadgets to be completely satisfied with their acquisition, and will do whatever I can to make sure they are.
